Entry requirements for professional course.
Minimum certification Level to Start PADI Rescue Diver or Equivalent.
Internship Program strongly recommended minimum certification Equivalent PADI Dive master or above and you must have your own dive equipment, Regulator, BCD etc which we can help you purchase on Koh Tao at a heavily discounted rate.
If you have not yet been certified as a diver or need to advance your certification level Liquid Media is affiliated with several of the best Dive Resorts on the island and can assist you in making the decision of which dive operator to choose, offering Open water to Instructor.
Our two week course is recognized as producing the best Underwater Film makers and Videographers on Koh Tao, two weeks of solid training followed by a free a two-week internship, which is possible to extend if desired and depending on time of year we try to hold onto you as staff!. The Professional Videographer Internship can only be entered after successfully completing our Liquid Media Videography Course. If you are not interested in becoming a Resort Videographer and would be more interested in learning how to make Documentaries, spend two weeks gathering Stock footage, learning how to do voice overs and edit the results.
The two-week training period you will be diving almost everyday, under direct supervision of Professional Videographers each with more than a decade of experience, thousands of video dives and dive experience worldwide. Liquid Media is the only Apple Macintosh Center and the most experienced with Apple's Final Cut Studio & Final Cut Pro X also available Adobe Premiere Pro which can be used on either PC or Mac.

After completion of two weeks training you will be making a sellable & polished product and this is when you begin your field training dealing with customers, both fun divers and students, filming their experiences and selling them a memory of their time on Koh Tao. And here's the great part, you will be paid for anything you sell, so it's a chance to make some money back and it's a really satisfying experience showing your movie in front of an audience.
This Underwater Video shows some of the types of shots you will learn during the course, filming Corals, Swim overs and other Wide Angle techniques, swimming a keeping the camera steady is a real skill, anyone can put a camera down in the sand a film a close up.
3-Day PADI Videography Specialty Certification
With a total of 4 dives including use of Underwater Video Camera equipment 12,000 Baht.
Minimum Certification: Open water Diver or Equivalent although we strongly recommend to have Advanced Certification with the PPB dive.
Day 1
Begins with an introduction to the video Camera & Housing, including, rules of Composition and Camera movement, Housing preparation. Followed by two afternoon dives covering Safe Diving practices, Buoyancy & Swimming techniques.
Day2
We spend the morning reviewing the previous days footage and a introduction to sequencing shots, developing a storyboard and editing using Apple Macintosh computers with Final Cut Pro. Two more afternoon dives on the boat, filming on the boat and underwater.
Day 3
Morning or afternoon editing your final movie, Certification and your own edited DVD of your underwater footage.
Optional extras to the videography course are Night Dive Videographer, Nitrox Enriched Air Certification.
